In 1989, based on a set of core values, Mark Zitter formed a boutique market research firm out of his San Francisco apartment with a vision of helping clients navigate the emerging complexities of managed care in the U.S. The Zitter Group, as it was known at that time, initially produced conferences and conducted custom stakeholder research on the managed care market. The company developed a reputation for creating unique products that offer deep insights into payer behavior, including the first service to track prior authorization policies, and the first service to monitor the messages payers recall hearing from pharmaceutical manufacturers. The Zitter Group’s name was eventually changed to Zitter Health Insights to better reflect the firm’s rapid growth and its commitment to providing insights to a broad set of healthcare clients.
Today, Zitter Health Insights has offices in New Jersey and San Francisco and serves virtually all major pharmaceutical companies in the US, as well as prominent specialty pharmacies and managed care organizations. Over the years, access to medication has become even more complex, with many new influencers emerging, including IDNs, specialty pharmacies, and patient support programs. Zitter Health Insights has kept pace by introducing first-in-class products to help customers understand each of these influencers and how these influencers fit together to impact patient access to medications, and ultimately market share.
