1. What is a SPOT?

    SPOT stands for Secure Point Of Transfer. It is the location you leave and receive your garment bag when you place an order with us. SPOT is our secret to keeping our prices low and being on time, every time, with our pickup and deliveries. We can keep a copy of key (on a coded chain with no link to your address), or contact a neighbor, or leave with the concierge.
    Examples of SPOT's include:

    -Concierge desk.
    -Outside your apartment door.
    -The porch (front or back) of your house.
    -Inside your exterior door.

    We are happy to provide in person delivery, however if we have to wait long, or if we can't get in touch with you, we will assess a $5 missed pickup / drop off fee.

  2. Do you do alterations?

    We certainly do. We have experienced seamstresses at our facilities Monday - Friday.
    We ask for you to please describe in your "Order Notes" section of the order page, or with a hand written note included with your garments the alterations you request as specifically as possible. The challenge is we are altering clothes without you wearing them in front of us. We have done a great job with all our alterations when we have detailed requests!

  3. What is the $55 charge on my credit card statement when I order?

    When you place a Pay As You Go order with us, we authorize your card to ensure that you have the available funds for a typical wash 'n fold or dry cleaning order. This is a temporary hold on your account, and it will be replaced with your actual total prior to delivery of your garments.

    The process works like this:
    1. Order placed (pay as you go only)
    2. Authorization of $40 executed
    3. Order picked up, returned to our facilities, and weighed or inventoried.
    4. Actual order total determined, management updates authorization to actual total.
    5. Payment Complete, receipt attached to your garments when delivered.

  4. What do you use to clean my clothes?

    Your garments are always sorted into at least two loads and washed in the appropriate water temperature. We use Tide, Downy, Clorox, and Bounce to process every order to ensure your clothes look, smell, and feel as clean as possible. If you would like to supply your own detergent, or customize your wash preferences, please let us know in the appropriate field when you place your order online!

  5. What is the policy on lost or damaged garments?

    We have an extremely reliable system to ensure that we do not misplace or confuse your order. This system has proven to be accurate more than 99% of the time. If you'd like, we welcome an inventory list to accompany your order. Only if a verified list is given to us will we assume liability for any lost claims.
    Our damaged and lost item terms can be found in our terms of service which you can view on the last step of the ordering process.

  6. Do you have any minimum requirements for orders?

    Yes, we do. Since pickup and delivery are FREE, we must uphold a 15 pound minimum for wash 'n fold orders, and a $20 minimum for dry cleaning orders. This is before any discounts or coupons are applied. We have to pay for insurance, gas, and our drivers to provide our service, so we appreciate your understanding :).

  7. I don't think I have a SPOT, can you call me for every pickup and delivery?

    We would be happy to call you for face to face pickup and delivery. We do require that you are home and ready to answer your door, because if we are unable to get in touch with you, then precious time, and gas is wasted. We will incur a $5 face to face pickup or delivery fee if you are not available when we call you when we are at your address.

    We are more than happy to work with you to establish a SPOT, and you can really enjoy the service like it was meant to be. After all, it's about making your life easier, not filling it with more appointments and to do's!

  8. How do Value Plans work?

    Value Plan's provide up to 20% off pay as you go and 10% off all dry cleaning!
    The plan's work like a cell phone plan. You are allotted a certain number of pounds (30, 60, 90, or 120) every month (30 days). When you purchase the value plan, you are charged for the month, and then as you schedule pickups throughout the month, we deduct from your total available pounds.
    If you go over your allotted weight, you're charged at our standard rate of $1.35 per pound.
    For your convenience, the plans automatically renew every 30 days. If you would like to upgrade, downgrade, pause, or cancel your plan, you can notify us at btmlaundryservice@gmail.com and we will be happy to do so at the next billing date.

  9. Do you have any Rewards Program for dry cleaning?

    Funny you should ask, because we do! For every $100 spent on dry cleaning, you are automatically given a $10 discount. This guarantees you have the best service at the best price! Thanks for your loyalty!

  10. What does BTM stand for?

    BTM stands for Better Than Mom’s, our original name. We first started our business as college students, and our goal was and still is to provide some comfort, stability, and reliability (just like Mom did) in a hectic, fast paced world.

  11. Where's the sales tax??!

    The Garden State (New Jersey, duh) does not require assessment of sales tax on cleaned garments. Horray!

  12. This is all great! How can I get started?!

    You can order through our website, or by giving us a call at 866-528-6224. To order online, go back to our homepage, and click Order Now. There, you can register if you already haven't, then select either pay as you go, or value plan. Then a few clicks, and you're all set! If you prefer to call, Casey or Mike usually answer the phone, and we are happy answer any questions and schedule a pickup.

  13. What if I need to reschedule?

    To reschedule a pickup or delivery, please give us a call or email us @ btmlaundryservice@gmail.com. We always have the email open and respond throughout the day, so don't hesitate to send us a message!

  14. What about special care items, or special washing requests?

    We are happy to process your order to your exact specifications. Common requests are hang dry, low heat dry, delicate wash, or wash on its own (common for brand new clothes that may bleed). Also, unique wash preferences like all natural, scent free detergent (Ecos), extra softener (for those who love to smell the clean!) or extra dryer sheets. When you place your order online, please fill out the "Order Notes" field with any request you have. We love to hear from you so we can make sure we do everything exactly as you like.

  15. What are your Service Hours?

    You can place an order online, email us @ btmlaundryservice@gmail.com, or leave us a message @ 866-528-6224 24/7 ! We are in the office at our facilities 7:30 am to 7pm Monday - Friday and have slightly shorter hours on Saturday & Sunday.
    Pickup & Delivery Hours:
    Monday - Friday 8 am - 12pm (noon)
    Saturday 9:30 am - 12 pm (noon)
    That said, we are a local, owner operated, small business, and we love our customers! We are happy to make deliveries in the afternoon if you need us to and we have the available staff!
